Black Chickpeas Chaat
The salad that I am sharing with you as my first recipe, makes me so nostalgic, as a child i used to buy this tasty snack from a vendor who used to stand outside the playground and serve it in newspaper boats. It hot outside… and I am speaking of namma Bengaluru where the skies are always overcast and cool! I have a bunch of coolers made and kept in the fridge for any time that my system might overheat. Hope these help you too!
Tangy Ginger-mint cooler
1 tablespoon finely chopped Ginger
Juice of 2 lemons
2 tablespoons Jaljeera powder
Handful of crushed Mint
Black salt – to taste
Sugar to taste
Mix the ginger, mint, jaljeera powder, black salt & sugar with soda. Enjoy the cooling drink, jaljeera adds a tang to the spicy heat of ginger! Yum….

Quick Corn Salad
1 cup sweet corn kernels, steamed
1 small onion, chopped
1 small tomato, chopped
1 small capsicum, charred on stove, peeled & chopped
1 tablespoon Olive oil
2 teaspoons lemon juice
Salt, pepper, Chat masala to taste
Mix all the ingredients together while the corn is warm.. Enjoy!

I work in the IT industry where the pressure is high and impeccable quality is in low supply hence time and again I have seen difficult situations aka escalations (IT lingo) and have wished if there were a few ways in which I could handle the crisis better, so I put together a list.
Here are 5 ways to deal with situations which seem out of control –
Keep Calm! I could quote many an instance where a situation could be saved if one of the parties had kept his cool and thought over the next steps instead of hyper-ventilating. Taking deep breaths is a sure shot mechanism of calming those nerves. I have my own crazy way..I listen to the sound of rain on my music player. Find your own calming mechanism.

Of all the things that cannot be controlled in life, one thing that can be catered just right is a steaming plate of pasta… One of my passions in life, if life allows, is to feed all the people who have not had a chance to taste this heavenly yet humble dish.
These past days my love for cooking this dish has reinvigorated and in one weekend I have ended up making 3 sauce variants! A beautiful Bechamel (white sauce) and 2 variants of the Arrabiata (red/tomato sauce). I think the biggest facilitator in this was the fresh, pre-cut veggies now available online in Bangalore and other metros. It completely motivated my lazy ass to created a home cooked variety of these simple to make dishes.
